When Harold and Elizabeth Jeffers started Jeffers Tree Farm in 1948, trees and wildlife were not much in evidence in the played-out fields and pastures of the hill country of southeastern Ohio. But then they started planting trees.

Harold Jeffers was a fine woodsman, who earned money for college by trapping and hunting.  As the forests came back, he and his growing family could see the changes in the wildlife. When the farm was started in 1948, game was scarce.  As the forests came back to life, the game followed.  Today, southeastern Ohio regularly produces trophy animals.

Today, Jeffers Tree Farm is actively managed by family members, in coordination with expert advice from top guides and outfitters.  Management for both timber and wildlife is our priority.

Today, and for the future, we have plenty of both.
